I am glad you both had fun fishing and had some nice hikes. As for the Mermaid -- to many people nowadays see themselves as some sort of star player in their own action movie. Makes no sense, but seems pretty common. The Steens are amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Next time, try a size 8 ought Purple Zonker.  Rumor is mermaids are suckers for glitz and color.

Great looking fish.I have been waiting for a trip from you with lots of fishing.

mermaid... incredible.  Nice to see you kept your cool.  I lost mine last weekend.  We were in a campground and had generators running on both sides of us.  We moved sites the next morning.  New guys shows up and has music playing loud while setting up his site.  I said some not nice things I later wished I hadn't.  Had to patch it up later, and he turned out to be a great neighbor for the remainder of the stay.  Still learning how to be a wise old fart instead of a crotchety one.   :P
