We have an ATC bobcat and are looking into roof cargo baskets to attach on our yakima racks with roof sliders. Marty at ATC discouraged us from using our 27 lb thule cargo box b/c of possible damage to the seal on the pop up on wash board roads plus the extra lift required to pop up. So were thinking about something lighter like this 15 lb rack from Elevate Outdoors. We'd only use to store things like empty water jugs or lighter objects. Anyone have experience with roof baskets on an ATC for Four wheel popup?

robcc, FWIW, I travel with a 45 pound solar panel, 10 pounds of maxtrax and a 39 pound canoe on the roof.  Others here are also carrying loads on their roofs.

We have a Yakima Basket Case that we have occasionally used on a FWC Grandby (with internal lift struts), and an ATC Bobcat.  On the Grandby, we used a speaker lift, as the internal struts were not particularly effective.    We didn’t have truly heavy loads and didn’t see a problem with either camper.  I’m going to use it on the Cougar if needed.
