Lake has been so dry for so long. We decided to check it out before the summer crowds descend on her waters. A bit muddy but she looks right! Spent some great time with our friends and found some secluded sunny goodness up in the fingers. We deployed the restoration project, 1964 Starcraft as our vessel. Sitting in the bow felt like we were in a presidential aquacade. Luxury seating for 6 with beautiful views through the large curved windows. Nice to enjoy a break in the rains and catch a taste of spring on the way.

We were able to get pretty far up the channels due to the high water level. We spotted a bald eagle and she lead us to some cool old cabin and a great place for lunch.

What a great looking old Starcraft!  It's terrific to see one so well restored, and lovingly in use.

Looks like a great time. Naci and San Antonio should be ready for skiers this summer!

Oddly San Antonio is still pretty low. Naci is @ 86% while San Antonio is only @ 39% I think it is because one lake has numerous and more productive tributaries than the other.

As the storms come in from the Pacific they dump on the Nacimineto water shed first

then move east to dump what's left in the San Antonio.

There has been lots of talk about sending the extra water from Nacimineto Lake to

San Antonio but the white bass are the issue. Also there are a lot of political issues with

Nacimiento. For 1 it's not in Monterey county but we in the county pay for the dam and flood protection.

A lot of water goes over the spillway in a heavy year and it could be diverted into SA lake.

The idea still is out there.

Enough soap box.

Great to see the lakes fill. That's where the water we use in the Salinas Valley and  North Monterey county comes from.

Thanks for the pictures.
