Can anyone verify for me exactly how tall a platform needs to be for a 2015 Fleet to clear the cab and bed rails in a 2019 Ford F150? I don't trust myself to make this mod so If I am going to do it I want to do it right. From my knowledge, the depth of the camper is 17.5 inches to the part that hangs over the bed rails and the bed depth on my truck is 21.4 inches. This would make it appear that I have to get a platform that is 3.9" high + just a bit to clear bed rails? So I assume that I'd want a 5" platform if I want to clear the bed rails by 1.1".

Also, there is the overhang where the camper bed is has to clear the cab. It is 41.5" from camper bottom to the part of the camper that hangs over the cab. The bottom of the bed to the top of the cab is 44", so google tells me. With a 5" platform, the camper should overhang to cab with 2.5" of clearance (41.5 + 5 - 44). Does this seem like it will be accurate?

Has anyone done this and do you know exactly how tall a platform is needed?

I’ve built a platform for an older camper I used to have. Your math seems right at a cursory glance, but the main advice id give is to measure everything by hand. Particularly the campers. The floor depths vary so much having been built to fit a variety of trucks it seems no two are the same. I think you generally want a couple inches of clearance for both the bed rails and the cab clearance - I believe this was the advice I was given.

If weight’s not too much of a concern, I’d probably frame it out with 2x4s and 3/4” ply top and bottom for a ~5” platform.

Just double check the depth of the bed of the truck in a few places, I recall they might differ slightly from the front part of the bed to the rear.

I had a older fleet on a 14 F150 for a bit.. built about a 4 inch platform that also doubled as a little storage locker, was nice in that regard.
