Best Bacon

Edit:  In case the link is ever broken, it’s North Country Smoke House.  My favorite is

Fletcher’s Dry Cured.

Better than Roundman's? I never fail to get some bacon every time I head up the coast.

Can't beat Mahogony smoked meats.  Thier sandwiches and beef jerky is also good.

Okay, was wondering what place in Bishop. For some reason we tend to head north on 6 and not east on 395 at the north end of town.

Been personally enjoying Mahogany smoked meats for about the last 45 years. My folks had a cabin in Mammoth and we never passed through Bishop without picking up a slab before hitting the slopes.

Another plug for Mahogany Meats. I always have some of their turkey jerky on hand, sometimes order their bacon and their sandwiches (Rodeo is a roast beef and bacon club) are beautiful enough to make me cry after a week long backpacking trip.

Some things are just not right.

Also, I'm a long time Herb Caen fan and fondly remember him repeatedly writing, "Friends don't let friends go to Starbucks."  :)
