After much discussion I have finally settled on a solution for the camper user group forums. I have added a general truck camper forum (which we have needed for a while) and moved the Four Wheel Camper and All Terrain Camper forums under that new forum. This will allow me to add more camper user groups without cluttering up the main forum index page. I have gone ahead and added an Alaskan Campers forum due to a recent request for that addition.

Change is not good or bad, it just is.

I think this is a good idea. This website is geared more towards a style of travel and the previous limited categories may have kept some people from joining. There are a few members that have Pheonix, Northstar, or other brand campers, but this should help to increase those numbers.

One thought, though. Is making it a Truck Camper Forum still too limiting. What about people that like to Wander the West in their Sportsmobiles, roof top tents, sleep in their vehicle, etc? Like DD said, it is overly cumbersome to make separate forums for each as done on other sites. So how do we make them feel welcome?

I was almost going to complain, till I bothered to actually look at how the forums are set up. Works well. 99% of the time I just hit "view new content" and almost forget what the rest of the site looks like.

We'll just have to see how many gear forums there is demand for. If there is enough demand for non-truck campers like sportsmobiles, tent trailers, casitas etc then I amy need to make another top level category.
