I have just finished removing and replacing the rooftop fans with new fans and taking care of leaks, re-setting the solar panels. Nine hard years of ice buildup and removal seriously played havoc on the integrity and the leaks were getting bad.

Now I am moving on to removing and replacing the vinyl flooring and re-designing the battery box. I deal with a lot of wet gear like ski gear and what not so over the years the vinyl flooring has buckled in places and there was even rusty wood screws and slight wood rot in the worst areas. I pulled everything out, all the storage, the battery box, heater. I will remove the flooring tomorrow and probably hit the floor pack with boat paint to seal it after I clean and sand it.

While all this is out, aside from things like new hardware, wood pieces and other moisture resistant moves, what else would others do to take advantage of the empty status of the camper?

I have time, won't be getting a new truck until the Fall most likely so I can take my time going over everything and making it all good.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend 2023.

I am looking at the new 2024 Tacoma platform for my Bobcat, hope the bed dimensions are close. The Trailhunter looks to fit the bill with a 6’ foot bed. The power train is what I was really hoping would come next, 2.5L inline 4 turbo-electric hybrid kicking out 326HP / 465TQ. Our other car is an Audi EV so it’s painful to get 14-16MPG anymore. Camper is good, roof work, new floor are great. I just replaced the trickle panel for battery bank 2 on the air dam, increased from 40W to 50W.

Ready for another Summer in the Rockies. Will attach photo later when I can resize…

Great to see you back on the forum, it sounds like the Bobcat has been tuned up and is ready for the new truck.

Thanks, it’s a ways off yet, honestly need to see how the new generation of these trucks plays out. My truck is going strong for the most part, some frame rust though so the clock is ticking.

The goal is to move to the new truck in 2026-27 or so.
