WE left in the early afternoon on a friday and had a reservation at the Shelter cove RV park....just to insure we had a place to stay.
Small spaces.....whew! 12 foot wide? the drivers door hit the pic-a-nic table.

Good showers though.....B-E-A-utiful view of the ocean (pacific) ....
we got up saturday morning and drove up the Kings Ridge road to Mattole Beach....WOW it was neat......check out the "zen pool"...and the butterflies....a zillion of them....we had to roll up the windows!
At Mattole Beach it was KOLD! lots o wind. it was unfortunate but some vandals had been through and smashed the place up pretty bad....can you image the effort to break up concrete picnic tables? the dirt bikers were there too....just tearin up the place....we left.
the ride from there up to Petrolia was really nice.....especially the part along the water....up until Cape Mendocino...the westernmost part of Cal! it was really beautiful.
