Glad you're still enjoying your time on the road. Be safe -

:o

:stifles a nervous laugh:

I had only put about 2000 miles on the 1998 F-150 with 175,000 miles on the gauge before we headed West for Redondo Beach. I had a look 'round the hood first, but that was about all; I hadn't even done much night driving before the big event.

Fortunately, nothing bad happened.

After coming home (more or less) with the camper, I decided we needed new shocks. Might as well get an alignment while there.

As the truck was sitting up on the lift, I looked at the inside sidewall of a random tire. Yikes!

Checking the other three didn't make me feel any better, comparatively. They were all weather checked on the inside and one had a big cut in the sidewall. On the outside, they looked like black licorice.

I guess that rubber fancifier actually works pretty good, as long as its applied to all surfaces.

Bought new tires.

Cooper ATR's.

They were the cheapest 6-ply tires at NTB.

(My F150 has 182,000 miles on it, so I wasn't going to put on expensive tires.)
