I currently own a 2009 4WC Finch model. I have it on my 2008 Tacoma. I am in the market to buy a 2015 Tundra and I want to keep my camper for the new truck. The problem I will encounter is the height of the Tundra bed is at least 4-6" higher than my current truck. Which means I need to build a box of some sort to attach to the bottom of my camper so the "wings" of my camper wont rest on the top of the bed(and the front of my camper will clear the roof of the truck). I will then get longer turnbuckles(or Derringer Fastguns) to attach the camper to the truck. 

I was thinking of just building a wood box with the rear open for slide-out storage compartments and then attaching the box to the camper bottom with hardware. The only other idea is maybe having a steel box welded together but I dont "think" I need something that strong/heavy.

I did a quick search but I came up empty. Im sure someone out there has done this so I'd appreciate any advice/pics.

 

*I dont want to just throw a pallet in the bed of my truck because I know it will eventually "walk" around under the camper.

There have been several post on platforms to raise the campers. Here is one Some have drawers and some just hard foam to keep the weight down.

When I read your post, I immediately thought of some storage units that we use at work.  Below is a link.  Commercial versions are a little pricey, but I'm sure you could use it for some ideas anyway.

Thats exactly what I was thinking of! I just want to build it myself. Something strong enough to put 1000# on and drive down dirt roads...

You might get away with using some screw links on the camper to extend the reach of your existing turnbuckles and save yourself a few bucks.

My brother in law built one for his camper, he used 2x4s on edge with 1/2" plywood top and bottom. To bad it was a wood frame camper that the roof eventually rotted out. You would need to build it with spacing for ventilation to avoid mold or rot on the camper floor.
