Problems with Alaskan camper running lights

Also check the plug on the camper. Back then the female outlet was wired backwards not the standard lay out on most light receiver plugs. Also I have check for corrosion at the bulb connections and in the housing.

    Cabover Tips

Great idea on the positive pressure pushing air out. Your son is correct, you reminded me we tried that at times and it does work ok but there sure was a pile up of critters at the fan screen entrance. All in all just have to deal with them and it is worth it to be "way up north"

    Cabover Tips

Same here not a problem during storms or wind. You might wipe the mattress down very little when there is some side ways hard rain or snow. But we have been in a bunch of weather and not bad at all. You will be wetter getting out of the truck more than the inside of the camper. We timed our...

    8'FD Dinette Question

Hello Herbie, Not sure, if you are interested in looking at a side door entry. It may solve the 3 - 4 person seating and sleeping and crawl over and more. Our 3rd person was our dog and he sometimes would go under our feet, sleeping while we were either working or eating. Plenty of room and...

Travel Lock Upgrade - Pictures Please

For our 2016 AK camper (7' long x 7' wide flat bed with a cab over) the travel lock was installed at the factory. It is a 3/8" bolt about 4 inches long, going through the cab over and the base. I installed a keeper pin for the nut vibrated off couple times on some long dirt roads and I lost...

AK Flatbed: Flagstaff, Arizona, to the Arctic Ocean

Yes the word is comfy for our Chevy. The Ford 350 was a fine capable truck mechanically and had 300 more pounds for payload. I don't like driving over the total allowable GVW, thus the reason for going 3500. The Ford was an extended cab and 8 inches shorter wheelbase, which was nice for...

AK Flatbed: Flagstaff, Arizona, to the Arctic Ocean

Thanks for sharing our overland voyage! @walkerab0ut We are back in Flagstaff. Cut a wee bit short, but all is great when you have no expectations and the time to work and wander. The trip to Tuktoyaktuk, NWT was a pleasure in so many ways. 75 days and 10,500 miles. We had an unbelievable...

AK Flatbed: Flagstaff, Arizona, to the Arctic Ocean

PS. I sold the 2016 Ford 350. All was fine with the Ford for the AK camper, but we decided to go for a bit more room, for camera gear and dog and a smoother ride since we will be on 1000's of miles of dirt roads, including the road into our off grid cabin when we return. The 3500 crew cab...

Flat bed side door entry-Dream camper

Yes I can remove the camper. I take the jacks( rieco titan) off when travelling. They are out of the way for rougher dirt roads, hitting rocks and ditches and smoother driving. I feel it creates less drag and weight, and maybe equals better gas mileage. The camper is bolted down through the...
