I've had good luck removing pine pitch with waterless hand soap. Works like a charm.

I've considered screening the sliding window. I thought I would have a screen made (~$20?) and velcro it to the frame. I played with the idea of using velcro to hang just the screen material, but it seemed pretty flimsy. I'll be interested how your idea works out.

When you're going off road, do you take recovery equipment? What do you take? Have you had to use it?

erod, I bought the one in the lower pic from 4 Wheel Parts. It's made by Lund. It doesn't fold. Mine has a 500 lbs capacity. The folder is more expensive and (I think) lower capacity. I'll post some pics when I get it modified. I've seen the step that goes over the tire. Check Camping World...
