My plan is to put a mid size camper in a 3/4 ton. I have wondered about how to get the jacks to clear. I wonder how well that just flat plate works. I would expect some sort of bracing would be needed

Those true little guys are very rare. I'm not interested in a swift, even the shell is too heavy for my vehicles gvwr. If you don't care about gvwr there are many more options.

I doubt it, but if it does I'll start to include a hawk in my search. It should be way too wide, certainly too long for the 5ft beds, and it should still be at least a 6-9 inches off the end in the 6ft beds.
