With an Eagle on a Tacoma I had plenty of room to attach an L iron (I used heavy alum.) to the camper bottom. Then I used the standard attachment bracket bolted to the L. The steps detach fairly quickly. Works well in my back yard. The real test comes in a couple of weeks and lasts all summer.

I tried the wireless version 2 years ago and immediately drilled a hole through the cab of my one week old truck (ouch) so I could string a wire. But sooner or later the wireless version will work (maybe blue tooth).

I use various hooks in that area that I hold in place by pinching part of them between the two boards of the roof support system. I had hoped to use suction cup hooks but they don't hold unless pinched into place.

When it happened to me (3,000 miles from home) I used an ordinary cloth ratchet strap on the outside to hold the corner in place. Put one hook on the flange used for jacking, the other whatever I could catch under the truck. Held fine at turnpike speeds and back roads.

I do not see where the problem is. But I am pretty sure there is one. We have run a 2 amp fridge for many days with less solar power than you have. The watts up meter may be your best bet.
