UG, Very nice work, looks clean and professional. I have the same problem with the license plate when I have the tailgate/back porch down. I'd love to have a third plate but I'm not sure it's allowed. I've tried contacting DMV about it but so far I haven't gotten past the automated phone...

    For those with an Engel

I have 2 friends with them and they are running off of small solar panels and never drain the 2nd battery even after 3-4 days parked. I'm sold!

    Ventilation and CO2

As long as you are not using the stove or oven for heat and your furnace is exhausting to the outside you do not need to leave any windows or vents open. Most of our camping the last 3 years has been in the Winter.

    Alaska

When I saw your mondo bitsabeemer sidecar rig Chris, it came to me who you were. I met you at the Last Frontier BMW rally in AK and over the years was a customer of yours. In fact I asked you once about buying your hackmobile and passed it up. I remember you came blasting into the rally all...

I had attended events like this in the past. Here are a few things that always kept thing fun and simple. 1. limit the number of vehicles. This will keep it manageble 2. writen out daily trips with times and directions. 3. have a pot luck one of the night I think anywhere in the Death Valley...

    Single Battery

If you are looking for a heavy duty battery for either the truck or the camper the only way to go is with an AGM(absorbed glass matt)battery. The have more CCA than a deap cycle battery, more reserve amps, and will take a discharge better. Google AGM Battery and you will see lots of great info...

    Value of Solar System

Well worth it. We had 2x 80 watt panels and in non direct sun we could listen to the stereo all day long with an amplifier, watch 2-3 movies a night with the stereo, run the heater all night long and get up in the morning and listen to music again. I wouldn't think twice about it!

Here is a picture of our design drwing The 2 benches fold out to make a queen size bed. We have a small metal fabrication company with enough tooling to get myself in trouble. So this will be a fun project similar to our VW camper which we built cabinets, added solar, LED lighting, DVD w/12"...

    Awning: Yes or No?

I believe Fiamma and A&E are the same awning with perhaps a different price. They use the same parts. Different models have different degrees of set-up difficulty, but one of the A&Es is very easy for one person to set up. Unfortunately I can't recall the model name :( That is very...

    Showering & toilet options

We have an older Zodi twin propane tank that works great. I made a folding wooden platform to stand on. You can take a great shower in just over a gallon of water. For privacy there are bunch of different pop style rooms.

Last time I was in Chico I don't think they had housing like that. Tells you how long ago that was :D It is a newer subdivision with houses that look like they were built in the 20's

I am intrigued by your ideas (camper beds, IKEA cabinet) and you obviously have fab experience. Would you be willing to share your drawing? I will try and take a picture of it tonight and post it. If not tonight next week when we get back from a Hot Rod show.

    Awning: Yes or No?

Awning-Yes. We had a Fiamma on our last offroad camper and loved it. It had an aluminum housing that is very strong. Ours was scratched and dented from offroading and it always worked. If we were camping in the trees we still put it out to help keep the area around the door cleaner from leaves...

    Cutting into Camper Sides

How would you recommend putting the panels back on - rivets again? Sounds like there are voids in the frame where appliances can fit. Does anyone have pictures of a bare frame for a Keystone by any chance? Yes, I do have an aluminum spool gun, and an Argon cylinder. However, I want to stay away...

    Cutting into Camper Sides

As I am new to this forum I do have some knowledge with the construction of the Four Wheel Campers. My neighbor has one that he has managed to rip one of the jacks off and hit a duck as well I have rewired it. I have had some of the exterior and interior apart, so with that said here I go...

Welcome to the board. It's always nice to see another Nor. Cal. member. Nice truck but does need a FWC to complete it. If you aren't aware of the lead time for orders it can be as long as 3 months. Give Stan a call and check it out. Looks like the Westy served you well for a lot of years...

Hello everyone. This is a great site. The wife and I are looking at purchasing a Grandby shell before Winter to add to our F250 Superduty. We have not done any camping this year and we are going a little stir crazy. In January we sold our 1987 VW Westfalia Syncro. We looking forward to...
