Is slight misalignment of camper a reason to reload?

I expect it will be fine, I've driven many miles with poorer alignment than that - no issues. Having said that, I always try to get it very close. When by myself I jack it a little on one end and use blocks of wood and wedge to push it over, then unjack it.

non pressurized water tank fill leak

I don't believe you are filling the water tank with too much pressure. That is what the overflow is for, and it doesn't sound like your overflow is restricted. When I fill my tank, I put the hose in the inlet, and wait for water to spill out the overflow. Mine has never leaked. You likely...

    Info on Hellroaring Battery Isolators

I used the hellroaring unit when I installed a used snowplow on pickup - separating the plow battery from the starting battery, but allowing charge to both and combining both if needing a jump start. I installed it many years ago and it worked great; I since retired the truck but still have the...

My furnace will not light when battery is low. Yet the fan will come on, then off. Check your power supply.

Has anyone installed a diesel heater in a truck camper

I've used espars to preheat my trucks for years. If I was building a camper I would seriously consider this route (single fuel source). Locally, there's an experiment in heating a small house with a webasto.

    Drain rack for dishes

I also use the plastic drain rack. It can be found at any RV store or in the RV section of many other stores. You can search internet for Camco RV dish drain. Having a drain rack that sits above the sink would not work well for me. The camper sink is quite small with no extra room for a...

    roof sealants

I've used 3M 5200 for resealing the water heater, resealing roof screws, resealing roof rack, resealing front roof trim piece, and other stuff. I like it, unless I have to remove it. It works good, durable, available, white. With all the screws on the roof, there's no problem with adding a...

Can't pump all water out of tank?

I installed the same camco kit several years ago and have not experienced any reduced flow. The ball valve is not much of a restriction, if any. I also installed the water heater bypass kit so there is never antifreeze in the hot water tank either. The winterizing kit is very easy to use...

    AT Fuel Can Holder installation

With a hitchgate, to access the camper, you've got to swing the gate open and leave it open while you're in the camper, right? I wouldn't like the gate left swinging around if it's windy. It also seems the gate would be in the way in parking lots or if you are towing a trailer, which I often...

    Best Procedure for Washing Dishes?

Clean your plates up kids! :) No need to wipe anything off. Hot soapy water in sink (just enuf to get the job done) Wash dish. Rinse dish with hot water under faucet. (don't have fancy spray thingie) Place dish in Camco RV dish drain sitting next to sink. (fits in sink for storage) Let air dry...

    Grandby Storage

Our 2004 Grandby is laid out differently, but some food goes under sink along with dishes. Other food goes in rear cabinet (passenger side). Newer units appear to have much better storage! Over a decade of adventures with family of four. Used to use porta-potty when kids were little, now...

    '03 granby electrical queations

reflex99, my 04 Grandby did not come with a red knob (DC power on/off). I added one on the positive conductor running from battery to power center. I like to turn DC off when camper is not in use to keep things like the CO detector from draining battery (I don't have solar). My 04 Grandby...

    4WC + Dirtbike suggestions

I've used trailers, but I'm about to build my own hitch carrier - mainly because I also want to pull a small boat trailer. Might even build 2 - one on the front / one on the back. Why limit the fun?

Norcold 3-Way Fridge in 2005 Hawk FWC

I have the same unit. The burner started too soot up on me a couple times, and I just disassembled the pieces and cleaned them real good. Put it back together and worked great. If something is blocking an orifice or otherwise disrupting the normal flow of air or gas, then it may cause a sooty...

Rear Lift Panel Fabrication and Replacement

Qcamper: I've had the same questions about using 1/4"....been putting off replacing my panels for a couple years. New FWC panels are high cost. When camping in cooler temps, moisture condenses on other aluminum like crazy, so I decided against metal. Saw some cutting boards the other day -...

    Solar Panel / Yakima Tracks

Depends on individual skill level, but I'd go for it. Seems a stud finder might locate those aluminum frame members. I've seen panels attached with or without racks. Individual preference I think. Rooftop is obviously best location for a solar panel, unless you like the portable option which...

    PEX PIPING REPAIR

For some piping mods I did, I purchased a piece of PEX piping, brass fittings a few clamps and a fairly inexpensive clamp pliers (like for CV joint boot clamps and such). The pliers worked fine, and repairs turned out great. I keep a few spare clamps in my kit, and carry the tool with me on...

    Maybe Crazy Camper mount thought

How difficult is it to line up before dropping the camper pin into the hole? It's fairly easy to see a gooseneck when hitching up a trailer, but you can't see a thing when backing under a camper.

    Extra Fuel Carry Options?

On my first AK to lower48 trip several years ago, I welded a 'T' shaped carrier out of square tube that mounted in the hitch receiver. Winterizing - Just the pump

Bill, yes. I installed this tee just upstream of the pump when I bought my camper. I also installed a water heater bypass kit. I use 1/3 gallon of winterban every year. Works great for me. 15F here last night.

Pump Psi question and Eccotemp L5 modification.

The Shurflo is something like 25 to 30psi max. (low flow). Look at manufacturer's pump curve (i.e. 12psi at 1.5gpm). Why not just pick up fittings and hose at a RV store and make yourself a hose to connect your Eccotemp to the camper? should work fine.
