10' fly rod carrier sideways

Has anyone mounted a 10' fly rod carrier sideways on a Four Wheel camper? Roof mounting is out of reach once popped up.

I have not seen that but I would think you could easily mount it to the jack brackets.

I have thought about mounting a rod tube under my awning. Just haven't got a "rountuit".

I mounted a 12' rod tube on the roof,easy to get to when the top is down but
not when popped up.
You could try to attach it along the side just below the latch hold downs.
I thought about that but never got around to that.
The tube on the roof worked well.

I’m thinking about mounting one between the overhang and truck cab perpendicular. Rods would have to be broke down in two pieces though.

Yes just 1" pvc with some special cutting so the reel fits in and locks.
Worked well easy to get to while the top is down.

I made one out of schedule 40 conduit (?) and a plastic ammo can that can be locked as a deterrent. I mounted it on the jack stands using 1” square tubing. I use a 10’ fly rod and cut it down. I have been using it from truck to camper now for probably 8 years.

I mounted mine underside of the grandby body, but its only 9 feet long..
