2015 Fleet needs new riser struts

I'm also looking at new struts. Does anyone know if the original equipment on a 2017 Hawk was 100 lb or 200 lb? Thinking of going with new 200 lb given the solar panels on the roof.

Karlton, I believe the typical gas struts used on FWC and ATC campers are usually in the 30 to 40 pound range. I’m aware of one member who uses 60 pound struts. Bringing a roof down against a 200 pound resistance might be a chore.

Thanks for that refresher. I was way off considering a 200 lb strut! I do recall the option of a 40 lb strut. The front of the roof lowers slowly but the back with the panel comes down a bit fast. I'll look into some 40 lbs for the back.

I replaced the struts on my 2014 Fleet with 40# gas struts from Gemini Gas Springs in Canada. They work perfectly. I have 200w solar on my roof, for weight reference. I am attaching a screen shot of the spec sheet.
