It’s a nice sunny morning here in NE Oregon, and I’ve been puttering in the yard. It’s perfectly clear up in the Pine Creek drainage, and the mountains are standing out clearly. I needed a coffee break, so grabbed a cuppa and my spotting scope. To my pleasant surprise there was a small group of mountain goats that included a huge looking billy, several nannies, and a kid or two. A pleasant morning indeed.

Beautiful scene there you have!... Season's changes. We are dipping to 27 tonight and 22 tomorrow night. The leaves have been jumping off with only the Red Oaks holding on. Do you ever use a long lens to capture shots of those goats?

Rob, thanks for the kind words. The goats are too far away for my lenses, they’re just little white dots (with legs) that move around near the summit. There are a few places that are good for day hikes, and the goats are often too close in these areas. There are warnings at the entry points and trailheads to educate folks about aggressive animals.
