The 10th circuit court has ruled that 'corner crossing' is legal.

For those not familiar with the issue - much of the BLM land in the west is in the form of 1 square mile sections surrounded by private land in a checkerboard fashion.

Private land owners have been arguing (and arresting people) that it is trespassing to step over the corner where these squares of public land come together, effectively removing access to millions of acres of public land in the west (and at the same time preserving their exclusive access to a public resource). The 10th circuit court has ruled that corner crossing is legal!

Thant is very good news. The oligarchs have lost this round. Their battalions of lawyers are no doubt scheming appeals, but for now, John Q Public has been treated fairly.

While I will probably never have the need to do so, this is indeed good news. Private landowners should not be able to prohibit individuals from directly crossing from one public land parcel to another. Thanks for sharing!

Perhaps the situation could be permanently solved with the opportunity to agree to an easement, failing that, a permanent taking by the state taking possession of the crossing points via imminent domain.
