Our planned trip next week looks like we are going to face windy conditions. Wind seems to complicate everything: dust/dirt everywhere, campfires become difficult, etc.

Anyone found good ways to deal with wind? (I suspect not, but who knows)

Park facing the wind to pop up and down. Bring rubber bands for the top latches to quiet them down from clanking. You will be rocked to sleep from the wind:D

We don't care for the wind either, but it is a common event here in Nevada.

At least your getting out there..............

In heavy weather, we pop our Keystone down for sleeping and park headed into the wind, if practical.

Don't care much for wind myself. Never had to un pop the camper but I have been at the beach where I worried the blowing sand might scratch the paint/windshield. If it doesnt look like its going to stop its time to bite the bullet and just head on home.

Thats what I like about the mountains. I've been soaked to the bone, completely miserable but an hour later the sun comes out and life is good.

I sure like the camper in those big downpours. No more getting up in the middle of the night with a wet sleeping bag, wondering if the tent is going to collapse.

Just got back from our trip. Wow did the board light up with posts in 10 days! Wind turned out not to be a problem. Careful campsite selection (trees, surrounding bluffs) was key on a few nights, but we luckily had mostly calm weather the whole week. I will post pics a little later. Thanks.
