Ah !

someone actually saw that bear film.

:)

The guy who does most of the filming is Leslie Gaines.

He has a FWC Keystone and another guy he works with still has a Hawk model I think.

Leslie Gaines & Sterling Noren are actually working on a big project right now down in Mexico.

(A documentary on the Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon)

I thought I posted it, but must have forgotten with the crazy show schedule.

I will start an ongoing thread for the adventure.

Unfortunatly Mican True just died.

:(

He was the driving force behind The Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon, a 50-plus mile extreme race that takes place in Urique, Mexico.

Leslie and Strirling were the last people to film him for a one-on-one interview.

:(

Here is the last update . . .

FW: Copper Canyon 2012 Expedition Update #1

7 February 2012

Hello Everyone,

Here is the first update from the Sterling Noren-Leslie Gaines Copper Canyon 2012 Expedition to Mexico.

Last Wednesday we spent the day at Four-Wheel Campers in Woodland, CA where the friendly and technically proficient staff installed the Four-Wheel Keystone Camper on our 2012 Toyota Tundra and double checked all of the camper systems.

Thursday we were hosted by Mark Hellwig and Melanie Hellwig White where we installed a helper spring system on Sterling's Ford Ranger. Design Engineers David Wheeler and Ben Krause spent a long day installing and perfecting the air suspension system and Load and Sway controls on the 2012 Tundra. The airbags have dramatically increased handling and ride comfort in the truck.

Before leaving Bozeman the ARB Dakar suspension package and air compressor was installed by Rob Reid at renegade Off-Road.

Four BFGoodrich Mud Terrain Tires were installed to handle the rough roads we will travel in the Copper Canyon.

We spent one day testing the combined suspension setups and the ride of the Four-Wheel Camper on the dirt back roads of Joshua Tree National Park which provides a scenic backdrop for the expeditions first day.

We stopped in Gilbert, AZ for a few days where we were provided a great staging area for the final border crossing preparation by MIchelle and Mick Williamson, both adventure motorcycle enthusiasts.

Amazingly, we were able to meet Maria Walton in Gilbert. Maria is the girlfriend of Micah True, aka Caballo Blanco, the main character from Born to Run fame. It was a great beginning to our adventure.

Thanks again to all of our supporters.

All the best,

Leslie Gaines & Sterling Noren
