Since it's raining here, thought I'd try to get a couple pics up. If I screw it up, please let me know. A while back, there was a thread on gas can carriers. I did one on the back. Then the pics of the low profile box under the overhang is where I store my solar panel.

The Shady Boy Awning uninstalled

While I'm at it, here is the Shady Boy Awning. When I get it installed, I'll post the pics...

That can carrier is exactly what I have on my Jeep. Interesting idea on the mounting. Going outside with the tape measure now. I'd have to mount mine much higher because I have the hot water heater.

Hayduke.....nice work! Really sano outfit! What is the tube storage for under the rear of your bed overhang?

totally tubular

That, my online friend, is usually reserved for a large roll of topo maps and extra (small) water bottles. I have a smaller tube hanging off the rear that I keep extendable tent poles in. I was using them with a nylon tarp hooked to the rear roof rack. Now, with the shady boy awning, I guess they will be used w/ the awning in light to moderate wind.

Craig333

Hi Craig, I made sure the 2 cross beams that I mounted the carrier on were secured into framing. I probably don't need to tell you that. On this application, I used fairly hefty tapping screws w/ some locktight. Haven't had any problems. Some would suggest putting a screw all the way through and nutting it on the inside. I would have, but I installed an Atwood heater and didn't want to remove the beast to gain access to the wall behind the heater where the nut access would occur.
Good Luck
