Our new truck - 2021 Ford Ranger - has stock brake pads front and rear. After driving in dirt and dust, the brakes are very noisy and grabby. What compounds work best for for backroad conditions? I had this issue with our old Ranger. I talked with a knowledgeable parts person at our local Napa and I went with his recommendation with good success. If only I could remember.

Huh, this post indicates that the stock parts will annoy you for around 100K miles .

Sounds like you may have stopped for a while when the pads/rotors were hot? A bit of brake pad can get on the rotors and make them stickier in places than others. A bit of emery cloth buffing could help with that. Ceramic pads dust less. I love performance parts and they often dust a lot and don't last as long, but work great. I'd be inclined to hang around the Ranger 4x4 forums and see what the racers are using.

Vic, it happens each time we spend time on a dirt back road. It goes away after driving on pavement for awhile. It was the same with the 2003 Ranger. I'll walk over to Napa and talk with Mark again once all the neighbors relearn how to drive in the snow.
