Best way to attatch camper to truck?

I just bought my first pop up. I currently have fifth wheels rails in my truck. Should I give in and remove the rails or put the camper on a ply wood 2x4 base?

Is the mount going to be permanent? If so, take out the 5th wheel rails.

If the camper will be taken on and off to use the 5th wheel, build a frame platform from dimension lumber.
