thinking of getting some bigger front brakes on my truck. it just seems like I have to apply the brakes a bit too hard. any thoughts?

I figured I'd look into EBC yellowstuff brake pads when I need to replace mine: http://www.ebcbrakes.com/automotive/yellowstuff_brake_pads/yellowstuff_truck_brake_pads.shtml I think those are the strongest ones they make but are not low dust if that matters to you. Or are you talking full on caliper upgrades?

The offroad guys swap to the same year rotors and calipers off a Tundra for increased braking. The only 'modification' is drilling out the banjo bolt for the Tundra calipers.

Google up "Tacoma Tundra brake swap"

Those ebc yellowstuff pads do make a difference. Low dust they're not. Plan on cleaning your wheels frequently. I had them sitting on the shelf. Then one day I had some other work done "btw, you know your pads are shot?". Sure enough one was just hitting the metal. Sure glad I had pads handy. Why the stock pads went so soon I can't say.
