British Columbia, August 2024

I assume you mean of the one's we visited, but I can't even really answer that one. I only use the wifi from the truck (that is provided by AT&T), I don't have 'service' on my phone - threw away the sim card about 15 months ago. On drives it was common to have service, but once we arrived at sites the last thing I wanted was any sort of service so I didn't really pay attention. I do recall the further north we went the less we had, generally, with next to none on the north end of the Cassiar highway.

You might look for a coverage map from your particular provider for the specific areas you are interested in, it would probably be a better bet.

Great trip report - we may head that way this summer. Did you bring copies of the Backroad Map books that are published for Canada? They are extremely good for showing backcountry routes and camps as well as the topography. Used them quite a bit two years ago while on a fire assignment outside of Quesnel, BC.

The paper book version would have been nice, but since the digital version is already included in our Gaia GPS subscription we downloaded those instead. They are really great, all the detail we needed along with the waypoints of all the BC rec sites (also pre loaded into Gaia, and that was all we refrenced 90 percent of the time.

I'm going to the Yukon this summer via BC, and have downloaded all of the Gaia maps and Backroads Mapbooks maps so we can use them offline. The amount of detail in the Backroads stuff is amazing.

What a great trip. All through the videos I saw the clouds and wondered how many days of rain you guys had. Then in the final one you said there there was one! Everyone I know who went to Alaska or British Columbia never had enough superlatives to describe it. Planning is so key and it's obvious you do it well and really nice video.

Thanks for the kind comments!
