Friend has a 1983 Pentax K1000. Been in his closet pretty much the whole time. I had a look at it and it looks new. Asking if anyone here might guess a value and do folks still use these film cameras. If not, is there a way use for it..i.e recycle? I hate to think of burying it.

Some schools still teach film photography, it might be a good donation.

They sell for between $250 and $200 if in excellent shape. Good beginner camera for film.
