Has anyone here purchased a Keystone shell model? I did a search and didn't come up with anything.
We recently sold an Arctic Fox 990 because it was just really heavy, and a bit cramped with our two kids. We hauled it on a F350 DRW diesel, so the truck handled it, it was just heavy feeling and we didn't like taking it on rougher roads.
I am interested in what secondary sleeping arrangements that others have come up with that might work well for two growing kids? We've considered just pitching a tent for them, but would prefer everyone be able to sleep in the camper. I think we would like to order the unit as a pretty basic extended cabover shell, but I would like to have the compartment for the propane tank there. I think we'll go with the marine furnace like the one adventuretrailers.com is using for some of their units. I would also like to have at least two decent sized batteries. I have been a developer and builder for years and doing the custom woodwork and such on the unit would be fun, and well within my capabilities.
I would genuinely appreciate any information or advice from anyone that has bought one of these shells and finished it themselves.
