Cheers OP - I know this thread is old but if you are still active in it do you mind briefly telling us about the trip you actually ended up making to DV? Places visited, route taken, etc. We are in a similar situation with having about 12 days to explore in mid November '25 this time around but have only been up to the high bristlecone areas so far. Planning to come back and would rather see smaller areas in more detail rather than try to see everything lightly. Our FWC Hawk is on a '23 tundra and while we have been on some very rough roads with it we'd prefer to not be in an area where recovery vehicles cannot access if it becomes necessary. Yes we have the exploding 3.5L engine on recall and it figures in our trip planning these days unfortunately. We do have satellite comms just for this emergency scenario.
