Disconnecting battery from solar

My solar isn't getting much juice with the snow that keeps piling up on it. I'd like to bring my battery inside and keep it warm and plugged into my smart charger. What should be my procedure for doing this? My solar wires run to a MPPT, then a fused positive to the battery and direct negative. I assume while covered in snow and not generating a charge disconnecting the battery is a null issue, my concern is when the sun hits the panel again and the wires aren't connected to anything. Not one of my strengths...

Thanks.

Pull the fuse on the positive side and insulate or isolate the negative so it can't touch any positive terminals and you should be good. Pull the fuse before removing the cables so no voltage is going to the battery from the solar panel.

I've been thinking to get a charge controller that that accepts more than one input or to use a marine combiner switch to select the input. Then I can permanently mount a small "dumb" 120VAC charger to the camper and get the same level of control over battery charging that I will with solar.

I suspect though that part of your concern is the battery freezing, hence the move inside.
