Does anyone have experience with the Outpost 6.5 slide-in truck camper built in Colorado? I'm 79 this year and thinking about replacing the pop-top 4WC Hawk on my 2018 GMC gas 2500HD Crew Cab 6.5+ bed with a hard side camper. GM lists maximum camper weight as 1894# (payload is 2644#). Base dry weight of the Outpost 6.5 is 1475# and wet weight with options, 2.8 gallons of diesel, and 10 gallons (1/2 tank) of water "should" be about 1700#.

Thanks. Tried a search, but couldn't find anything.

I am picking up my camper on April 28. Last summer, I spent two hours at their workshop in Bayfield, Colorado, and got a tour by the owner/CEO. Their operation is as good as it gets. They are an honest and straightforward group of people who have designed one of the best slide-in campers, if not the best. The design and attention to detail are excellent. He recently sent a letter to his customers that expressed his frustration with the tariffs and how they are adversely affecting his production.

I haven't seen an OUTPOST, but looking at the website they look like very nice units. ricardo please post some pics when you collect your camper!

SCUD, if you'd like to do some comparison shopping, SCOUT is another brand of slide-in, hard-sided composite campers made in Yakima, WA. In addition to their hard side models, they have just started making pop-ups, too. Good luck in your search!
