The dog and I have a four day weekend Nov. 1st - 4th and would like to hit the Eastern Sierra's. The plan is to leave Wed. the 31st after work and head to Bishop, then spend three days exploring, fishing and possibly hunting some Chukar and Mountain Quail. The recent Posts and beautifull Pics of the surrounding area has re-kindled my desire for such a trip. Iv'e taken notes on all of the recent threads and was wondering if any of you experts on the area have any other spots you would recommend. Any and all ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Marc

Good Morning Marc,

I'm glad the dog could talk you into taking time off. I just Googled "eastern sierra hot springs" there are a bunch. Maybe a relaxing soak is in order. I can't recommend any as I only know Hot Creek. As far as hunting goes I haven't really thought about good locations. The Mono Lake area comes to mind and perhaps below the Crawly Lake Dam.

Part of the master plan is to tow the jeep up there and just explore the region for a couple of weeks, using the camper as a base camp. I love the Rocky Mountains and Utah is spectacular but my hart is in the Sierras. Perhaps next summer time permitting.

However my all time recommendation is don't pack any bread from home. Stop at Schatz' bakery in Bishop. A grilled cheese sandwich made with their Shepherds bread MMM, MMM heaven on earth.

Hope you have a good trip and remember lq's quote.

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks Mike. Your right, Schatz's has some good eats. As of now Dylan Dog and myself have no set agenda so were still open to any suggestions. Have to say Wendsday can not come soon enough.

Cheers,

Marc

Greetings! Where did you wind up going? Did you fish the Owens?

Hope weather was good to you and that you and Dylan Dog had a great time.
