I'm replacing my 2013 Tacoma with 6' bed and plan to move to the new hybrid Tacoma, which only comes with a 5' bed. I understand I should get a Swift instead, but for now I still have the Eagle, and I'm not a big fan of the rollover couch anyway, the only setup available on a Swift. I'm sure someone has fitted the longer models on a 5' bed, so how bad is it really? Can I just leave the tailgate down and call it a day?
Also, the new Tacomas have coil springs all around. Can I still get air bags for them?
I need to put on/take off the camper about twice a week. So I really need to get external tie downs. Is there a set solution for the Tacoma, or will this have to be custom?
Any issues I haven't considered yet with putting a FWC on a hybrid? I really love the idea of having the 110V shore power available all the time, so keeping the battery charged or even running a small a/c should be a non-issue. Any experience with this?
Thanks!
