FWC, cheap one on Craigs(Fresno)

Fleet

That is a "Fleet" model. I believe that was made for imports in the late 70's-
80's. Not a bad price. Maybe Ben or Marty could give us some vehicle models it will fit or the measurements. Never hurts to Look!:D

Fleet model

The fleet was designed to fit the smaller trucks yet give you the larger camper size. It overhangs the truck too much in my opinion and gives you that swaying motion when turning corners. It also weighs a bit much for the smaller truck. There are a couple of threads here on the fleet and the size. For the price it would be hard to go wrong with it though.

Pvstoy posted some pictures of a fleet that he used to own. This should give you an idea of how it fits.

Dimensions of fleet and an overhaul

Hi Ben,

Can you give us an idea of the overall dimension of the fleet. Did it still have the queen size bed in it? Also what is the weight roughly? Finally does ATC offer an old camper overhaul like you did to the keystone?

Thanks,

Rich

The floor length of the fleet is 80". The width is 78" up top. The floor width should be about 39 inches to fit the smaller trucks.

The weight of the fleet comes in about 750 pounds.

We can do an overhaul like we did on the keystone. The only problem is that we couldn't get to it for some time. We are overbooked with orders that we have to get done now.

Bed Rail Height on the Fleet

Hi Ben,

On the other thread PVS toy mentioned that the bed rail height on the T-100 might be an issue for carrying a fleet. Any thoughts?

rail height

I just asked Jeff about that and he claims that the rail height on the T-100 should be 17". The Fleet is also 17" according to Jeff. He thinks you can get away with just a 1/'2 or 5/8' piece of plywood on the bed to sit the camper on. One thing to watch out for is a drain that might be on the underside of the camper on the part that goes over the rail of the truck. I don't remember if the Fleet has one or not. If you do, watch out that you don't set it down on the rail of truck and break it.

Yes mine had a drain and you can see it on the picture below. The ice box also had a drain. The Dodge Dakota fit right down on the rails and I sugested he put a sheet of plywood under to ge some clearance.

Fleet Measurements

Hey Ben,

I was looking over the Hawk measurements and they are almost identical to the fleet. It looks like the Hawk is taller by 3 inches on a Toyota fit and 6 on a full size fit and 2 inches wider is all. How tall is the fleets door or closed height?

fleet door

Will have to ask Jeff on the height. Just a guess from the pictures posted I would say the door is 46" high. Don't take my word on that yet though. Will find out from Jeff later this morning and let you know.

fleet door height

Just talked with Jeff and he doesn't remember the exact height of the door.

We are going to guess at 44". Might even be 42". Hard to tell without having one to measure.

If you try to put the fleet on a full size truck you will have to put a base under it. The fleet was made with only 17" of clearance from the floor to where it comes out over the rails of the bed.
