I have a 78ish Keystone in need of an interior rebuild.
The bed is good, floor is good, canvas etc... The sliding cabinet doors have seen better days, the dirt roads of baja have taken a toll on the hinges of the cabinet doors and the particle board framing. The fridge sucks, I've yanked the furnace, and I never use the sink.
My plans are to rebuild with plywood, but I haven't seen what everyone has used thickness wise, I know weight is an issue, but with the removal of a lot of stuff, I don't see it as being a huge deal. Also, what are people using for counter tops? I will be keeping the stove, best thing about the thing!
PLans are to reframe the seat bases along with rebuilding cabinetry. I will also be adding one of these: http://www.campchef.com/triton-hot-water-heater.html. My thoughts are to use the existing vents for the fridge and have it inside and ready to use instead of having to have another place to store it.
I have an average amount of stuff for 2 people: plates, bowls, utensils, cups, pots, pans. Plus the necessities like foil, tupperware, TP, papertowels etc... With the fridge gone I am going to have a lot more space.
My plan is to create cabinetry that will keep stuff from bouncing around while stored, fold down doors with some type of strap/bungie system so they can't fly open, no frills, no sliders. I'm yanking all the 120v stuff as well, never use it.
Any suggestions, thoughts, photos, experiences, recomendations?
