What year did FWC start building the fabric without outside flaps? I tried searching and did not come up with anything. It's not really a Hawk question, not sure why I titled it that and the edit will not allow me to change it. If this has been covered already, I apologize.

Thanks,

I took the liberty (as Moderator) of editing your topic title to something closer to your actual topic, as you said you'd like to do. Is the new title OK with you?

I don't have the answer to your question, but I can tell you that my 2005 Hawk does not have outside flaps. Until a person who actually knows the answer posts, if enough others with an older-than-2005 FWC post "Yes" or "No" answers you should be able to pin down the year.

Yes it's okay, and Thank you. Oh, ignore my PM I sent, you already answered my question.

My hawk had the roof and sideliner replaced ~2003 (thus I don't have the stick Velcro adhesive issue of my campers era) and it does have the outside flaps. So you're somewhere in the 2004 range +/- a portion of a year for the move away from the flaps it seems.

Yep.

MakersTeleMark is correct.

The original FWC's from around 1972 - 1995 did not have any external storm flaps.

:)

FWC only used the external storm flaps on the campers from approx. 1996 - Oct. 2004.
