Gas refrigerator question.

When switching the fridge to gas, it is has been necessary to hold down the temp setting knob for 10-15 seconds once the flame is lit, as designed. Lately I have had to hold mine down for two minutes or more, otherwise the flame goes out when I let go. Once it remains lit, it seems to work properly. I have checked the slotted openings in the burner and they appear to be clear. I assume the gas flow is normal as the fridge operates properly once it is lit. Any idea what may cause this?

Thanks, Ted

Thermocouple?

I could be your thermocouple is going bad. Sorry I don't know how to test it. Maybe removal, cleaning and re-installation will fix it. I've attached a .PDF file I downloaded for my Dometic refrigerator in case that helps.

Or maybe I've uploaded it twice, or not at all...I don't see it when I preview my post. I'll be glad to send it via a PM or e-mail if it doesn't show here.

Just as I was afraid...It didn't post. I'll try a PM to you.

Quantum Mechanics

Gravity? Depraved indifference to E=mc2?

Just last night I was sitting with a few friends after work, enjoying a beer and the converstation of Einstein's equations, dark matter, dark energy, string theory (I'm still trying to wrap my brain around that), and quantum mechanics ensued. I wish I had thought about "Depraved indifference to E=mc2" as as way to describe my own theory.:D
