I received this notice making its rounds through the land management agencies. FYI
ATTENTION!!!
Prepare for GPS Rollover Week Effective April 6th, 2019 23:59 Z
The Week Number on your GPS Device will reset to ZERO.
The last time this occurred was 1999.
A GPS week rollover will occur at the end of the GPS day on April 6, 2019, at which time the GPS week will transition from week 2047 to 2048. However, because the GPS message structure broadcasted by the satellites defines the week as at a 10-bit value, the GPS messages will indicate that the week has changed from 1023 to week 0.
Some of our newer devices should handle the rollover automatically – IF YOU KEEP YOUR UPDATES ON THOSE DEVICES CURRENT.
(devices that conform to IS-GPS-200 and provide UTC should be fine)
Some of our older devices (trimble/garmin) may experience some issues. The one point to remember is to KEEP THE FIRMWARE OF THE DEVICE UP TO DATE.
If you have Trimble Devices
The table below shows the Trimble Mapping & GIS portfolio receivers and handhelds (released 2005 and beyond) that will continue to operate normally following the WNRO event, providing that the receiver firmware version is up to date.

For many years, Garmin has anticipated and prepared for this event. Regardless, Garmin has been performing exhaustive testing of current and legacy devices to determine if they will be affected by the GPS week number rollover. Our testing shows the vast majority of Garmin GPS devices will handle the WNRO without issues.
What is the Effect of a GPS Week Number Rollover Issue?
For GPS devices that are affected, after the rollover occurs, an incorrect date and time will be displayed. This incorrect time will also be used to timestamp track logs, compute sunrise and sunset, and other functions that rely upon the correct date and time.
