I will be mounting a (new to me) '77 FWC Grandby onto a 2012 Ram 2500 with 8' box. The underside wood has been replaced at some point by a PO, without the original mounting points. Current mounting is a kluge (2 eye bolts screwed into the rear that tied to bumper tabs and channel iron across the front that mated to home made frame mounts).
I would like to bolt the camper directly to the truck bed, with home made brackets clamping the camper bottom frame rail across the front and back.

Does anyone see any problems with this?
Any better solutions?

Thanks, Jim

Jim, I think those were originally Bolted through the base into the truck bed. Contact Stan at FourWheel camper they are very supportive of the other models. Best Wishes

FWC used to use four elevator bolts through the floor with fender washers and lock washers.
You shouldn't need any homemade brackets.

That system worked great on my old Grandby.
I would also recommend a rubber bed mat.
