Hark! I just filled my 05 Granbys water tank up in preparation to leaving for Eagle Lake When----water started seeping onto the front floor in the camper. I pulled the battery, all the top boards and I can't get the front ply board out so I can see where the hose(s) attaches to the tank and/or check for leaks! Probably some left-over water in the tank froze last month-don't know! The water appears to be maybe an 1/2 deep in the compartment, but again I can not look if that is true, and I can't see if there are any obvious leaks. The tank gage reads 1/3 tank and the water drip under the left side has stopped. So, I decided to stop, before I got mad and started sawing and ripping things apart! So (1) how do I get the board off (if I need to) and how do I get at the tank! (2) What happens next like what I need to check next or not to do next. and (3) is there some type of tank sealant I can put in and stop the leak! I feeling that the tank sprung a leak, and problems not at the hose connection! I hope I can fix this here in Susanville and not have to go to the one and only RV shop here or to FWC to get things fixed! Any suggestions, help would be greatly appreciated ! Looks like it's almost dry in the cpt now!

Yours must be totally different from mine. I just take off the cushion and the wood and its right there. Keep your fingers crossed its just a connection. Don't forget to check the pump.

Smoke,

Sorry to hear of your delimma. I have not taken my cabinet apart but it appears the front is just screwed on. My camper is an '03 so that may be different from yours. If you have time some photos of what you have removed so far and of what you are trying to remove would help.

I would strongly recommend contacting FWC with your issues. They provide excellent support for their products. Whether you bought it new from them or second hand - it doesn't seem to matter to the customer support department.

Since the leak seemed to stop as the level dropped the problem could be one of the level sensors. They are just conductive studs thru the side of the tank at the bottom, 1/3, 2/3 and top levels. You may be able to reach down the side of the tank and see if they're tight. Since you say your monitor shows 1/3 tank I would look at the 2/3 stud.

Please call Terry in our service department.

He might be able to walk you through things.

Give you some tips & tricks.

Update!:)

Well, I went out this morning, and trouble shoot everything again and since things were dry, and since I was in a much better frame of mind; I decided to slowly fill the tank up to 1/3 full, start the pump and see what happened-no water anywhere but in the tank, repeated the process until the tank was full! Water then started to seep from two small screw holes the top of the tank (which I put there on another project- by mistake, but no where else, emptied the tank and used some super glue to fill the holes-waited for an hour, tried the pump and everything worked with no leaks-according to most people what I did should not have worked, so I called Terry at FMC and we talked about it and trouble shot it again-and again since it is a closed system it should have leaked somewhere else-but it didn't-things just don't repair themselfs! One difference this time was that I slowly put the water in and did allot of testing things-took my time. Soooo, I stay here today and keep checking for leaks and if things go okay, I'll go up to the lake, on Tuesday-no far trips -and see what happens. Terry says I have a gremlin in my system some where-cause things just don't fix themselves-maybe a bunch of small things that by themselves (shore breaker flipped off, used high pressure water hose, pump fuze blown, water lines froze up for a couple of days) wouldn't cause a leak, acted all together to cause it-everyone is stumped, wish me luck that it keeps working-oh yeh, this is the camper that I just replaced last week my battery for the fist time after seven years (something else that usually doesn't happen) -and the old one (optima blue) was still working just starting to have problems-so maybe I do have a gremlin somewhere! I'll keep you guys and Terry posted on what happens next! Thanks for the comments anyway, if things go wrong it's back to the FWC shop for a look!:)
