It's 238k miles to the moon, I'm sitting at 241k. How many of y'all have high miles like this?

Made a lil picture in honor of the milestone.

My '12 Subaru Outback turned over 159,000 yesterday. My 2018 Toyota 4Runner is about to turn over 66,000 miles.

I gave my wife's son and grandson my '02 Toyota TRD 4WD pickup when I bought the 4Runner. It's got just over 225,000 trouble free miles, still running the original AC, brakes and clutch.

The highest mileage vehicle I had was a 1970 Ford F-250 "Highboy" 4WD pickup. I bought it in 1980 with 128,000 miles on it when I lived in June Lake, CA; I sold it to my brother in law, who lived in Trona, CA (near Death Valley), in 1985 with 363,000 miles on it. I explored a lot of Nevada and Eastern Sierra ghost towns with that truck. I last saw it still on the road in Trona, CA in 2004.

I had a 78 f100 with the 360 and the granny 4 speed slot machine. I sure do miss that pig.
274,513 miles when we waved goodbye to it last Friday. It is the truck in the banner at the top of this page.
Ranger? 274k on a ranger is pretty impressive!!

When any vehicle is well cared for, it is not that impressive. Ford Ranger is an excellent truck.
Few guys on the tundras forums would definitely disagree. 😆 Poor guys have had the worst luck. The V6 ranger is a great truck, but that 2.5L is kinda notoriously junk, known for head gasket and turbo failure

Our truck is still young with 85,000, and my first truck so I'm a newbie. Hopefully it'll go for a long time, or until we time out. I've owned just two cars -- I started driving my own car at 38, later'n most folks. So the truck is my 3rd infernal combustion machine.

First was a Volvo 285 wagon that surely went over 300,000. The odometer failed at about 260,000, and the electrical issues did it in at it's age of 22. The engine was still rock solid with no leaks. It took me to nearly a thousand hikes. I tried selling the undrivable carcass on Ebay but it got no bids. That cost me $45, but I managed to sell it for that much to someone at my company, and they got it to run again. Sad to see it towed away. It was the perfect trail car.

Second car is still running with 199,800 miles, a Prius. Also been to hundreds of trailheads and some long road trips. Mostly trouble free except the traction battery, still on original brake pads.

Everyone saying original brake pads and I'm just kinda shook. I change brakes practically every 30k miles. 😆

our 05 Tundra has about 215,000, the 2011 Forester 175K and the 21 Tundra just turned 55K. We usually get about 80K out of our brakes - I am the guy going slow down the passes!

In gentle driving, the Prius only uses friction brakes under 7 mph. The rest of the time the brakes charge the traction battery. I may be writing this on the wrong forum though -- should be on PriusChat!

You have me beat. Only 205k on my Dodge. Currently in the shop getting a new fan clutch. One of those things I'd have done myself in the past but old me said heck with that :)

It might even be ready but I forgot to give them my new phone number :(

The timing of this thread is ironic for me,

My beloved 93 Toyota 4x4 (which I have owned since new) has 375,000 on the original 3.0 V6, the absolutely worst engine Toyota has ever produced! It has never been a daily driver, being used exclusively for trips, usually in the desert in 4 low with an overload FWC on the back. Maintenance with only the best parts has of course always been a top priority.

I was hoping to hit the 400K mark before some serious preventative engine work (just to say I made it) but unfortunately a couple days ago while heading up to do some exploring in eastern Oregon before it gets too hot, the head gasket finally blew! Fortunately I was able to limp it the 250 miles home.

The size and (mostly) analog nature of this truck (plus 30 years of upgrades) means that the sane choice of just replacing it is not an option for me, as it is just too perfect for my needs.

Most experts I’ve talked to say fixing that particular engine is the definition of “polishing a T**d” but we’ll see what my trusted local machinist says when he gets back from HIS vacation.

Wish me luck!!!
