Hot water heater tank

Got started using my Hawk very late this year. I did not get the anti-freeze out of it until October. When I drained the system, a lot of black flakes flushed out. It was not rust, but appeared to be what I'm guessing was the lining of the water tank.
Am I a candidate for a "tank transplant" ?

Every time I drain my hot water tank I get a bunch of grey crap from the anode rod. This might turn black in anti-freeze.

Thanks camelracer. I know what you mean about that goop that comes out on the anode rod, but what I'm seeing is flakes that appear to be made of plastic.

Anyone? Stan?
