How can I store the ladder on the back?

I got to thinkin', which is always a bad idea, how I can easily store the ladder on the rear of the camper. Darn thing is dirty and annoys me to have to put it inside the camper (plus it's light).

You can see here how I attached the shovel. This is a Bobcat, so it's not as wide as the Hawk/Cougars. Is there a large enough quickfist? Can I install some sort of hook over the light? Interested in anyone's ideas here. Ladder is 24" tall I think.

How comfortable are you with drilling into the camper shell? I'd think a hook to support the weight then some straps to hold it against the camper might work out. Not really ideal in my mind though.

I have one of these and it folds rather flat so I just toss it into the camper on edge. However I have room in front of the camper between the truck and bed if I wanted to toss it back there too.

I like the ladder. That step stool would drive me nuts with the bar across the top. The ladder sits level with the cutout in my bumper, which makes a nice wide perch.

I'm really hesitant to drill into the camper shell, but looks like I'll have to. Expedition exchange has extra large quick fists here which would work. Gotta try to find one.

How do you have room between the camper and bed up front? Mine comes within 1" of the front.

Just ordered some of those large quickfists. Gonna see what I can work out. Still open to suggestions though.

How about duplicate what you did with the shovel on the left hand side. Use 3 quickfists to hold the ladder one on the jack mount bracket one on the bottom and one same as the shovel? Or you can have 2 on the jack mount bracket and one on the bottom.

On my rig that bar is ~1-2" below the door so I position the stool just like you have your ladder. If you were kicking the bar you'd be kicking the door frame if it wasn't there.

I have a couple pieces of 2x4 doubled up (thus a 3" spacer) sitting in my truck bed to keep the camper back from the truck a tad. I've seen photo's of trucks that were mounted too close and when the bed flexes the camper can hit the front rail of the truck so I just decided to mount it back a tad to forgo that issue. FWC uses some boat bumper things now for the same thing.

I have a couple of 2x4s to do the same. Toyota actually made the bed slightly longer at the bottom than the top due to the shape of the cab I guess. So the wall of the truck bed is closer to the camper at the top (just below the window), than the bottom. The spacer I built keeps the camper away just like yours, but I guess mine is a little closer. About 1" at the top.
