Insulating the water pump

Anyone have some tips for insulating the water pump for the winter?

home depot sells duct wrap in fairly small bags. this is fiberglass insulation with a plastic layer or sometimes a foil layer on one side. i wraped my pump and most of my water lines with this and zip tied it snugly. i alway thought of putting a small water hose over my lines to insulate more but never did.
