Cheap fix for a rear step

Here is my cheap fix for a rear step. Harborfreight 2" drop hitch under 20 bucks, invert the hitch and weld a 8x14 inch piece of 3/8" steel and hit is with red primer and black paint out of a rattle can plus some 3M tape to keep from slipping off plus a little red reflector tape. I think it cost a total of less than 25 bucks and don't know how I have lived without it. You can also see my 3ed brake light below the rear door.

I used the scissor steps in Stans first photo. They worked pretty well but were a bit bulky to store and had too many steps for the application. I like the hitch mount version in the second pic.

What that needs is a non-slip surface made out of bottle caps.

I got this from Redneck Industries.
