Hello All - having a hard time finding results for lift panel replacement. Just got a 1981 Granby and need to fix the lift panels. Any help on finding posts on it would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks again SunMan for getting me headed in the right direction! I must have been using to much info in the search function. Got the panels out - fabbed and getting ready to clear coat the wood. Used a rachet bar (2 piece pipe with a rachet in the middle and rubber pads on the ends to hold roof up for disassembly. The kind used for securing a load in the bed of your truck.) Opinions needed reguarding fastners to secure hinge to roof. The bottom hinge is attached with screws does anyone see potential problem with using screws in the top hinge where it attaches to the roof portion? The original had rivits but figured good enough for bottom should work for top or is there a differance in tubing thickness? Thanks - appreciate all the info this site provides and look forward to contributing. Thanks

I think (from visualizing in my head) the way the hinge folds on the roof side would tend to need the lower profile head the rivets provide verse a screw, check that out.

pods8 that is a good point I will look. I was just thinking that if they work it will allow me easier access to clean and add protectant every so often. The rear panel looks to have been original while unfortunately the front had been replaced. The person who replaced the front should not be allowed to use a drill :)!! As you see I've been on here for years but just this week got the Grandby -- I'm so excited!!!!! Been using a 1973 TeePee brand camper for years the non stand up kind - poping the top and being able to stand is AWSOME!!! Thanks for taking the time to give your input it is appreciated. This will get done but not before I drive myself crazy with the -- what about this or that -- alum rivets, steel rivets, screws etc. etc.

Just wanted to figure the pic thing out so thought I would try here. My old setup 1990 Dodge with the 1973 TeePee. Nasty weather out so today will be by the warm fire. No pics of the Grandby out and about yet - soon :) DSCN0420 (640x480).jpg

Did you have any problems attaching the 3 short strips that pull the liner in when lowering? I had one pull out,I had lowered the top and forgot to open the door. The strip in the middle pulled out of the liner and it can't be reached without removing the lift panel. Not going to do that as I can "stuff" the liner in from outside if it sticks out any.As said there are posts on lift panels or ask Marty at ATC for some info.I think they would be glad to help you.

Hello Casa Escarlata Robles Too - I have not put everything back together yet as I'm still cleaning and repairing the Material behind where the panels go. It would seem to me that you could support the roof and take the screws out of the bottom hinge to gain access to the middle strap. Guess I will find out soon. Have a good one.
