Loading The Camper

Indeed Tom, great learning something new. I love to hear how someone has sussed out a way to get something done; coming up with solutions by using the noggin! Everything is a tool.

That is a great tip and I think one could also use those larger furniture sliders that can be picked up at any hardware store.

Thanks all for the positive response to my ‘slider’ tip. I learn so much from this site it’s nice to be able to occasionally return the favor.

Removed the camper today so figured I’d post some pictures of the rear brackets I tried to describe in my post. I know most people have the slide in stop at the front of their camper, but if the camper hangs out over the back any, this system makes loading much easier and really keeps things snug and square on the roughest of roads. Have experimented with many tie down methods over the years, but this is by far the best so far.

BTW my camper is an old Eagle stepside model on a standard wide bed truck, so that’s why the doors, but the basic idea would work on any truck/camper combo where there is rear overhang.

Hope this helps someone out there,
Tom
