I just got my new Raven and we wanted to do a quick short over nighter to see how my wife and I can cohabitate in such a tiny space. We went to the new Crystal Cove state campground near Laguna Beach CA. Great place with many hiking trails and secluded beach. Comment to people that poo-pooed getting the rear floodlights, they worked great lighting my BBQ area and dinning area. I'm so glad I got them. Here are some photos:

Getting time for dinner, boy I'm glad I had the flood lights:

Here's the beach in the afternoon. Granted it's winter but it was in the 70's:

Granted, this was not an Overlanding Adventure and only one night and only 30 minutes from home, but it was still paradise anyway. I recommend this location for out of towners and can be reserved here:
Crystal Cove

You don't have to travel lots of miles to enjoy the camper and out of doors.Looks like a northern ca beach,ie. little or no people.Hard to believe such a nice spot in socal.Enjoy the new rig.Start planning longer trips say Yellowstone/Alaska/Yukon and so on.I would even be tempted to venture there if it wasn't south of SLO.Don't venture to socal much.
Thanks for the pictures

All that matters (IMHO) is that you get out there and enjoy what your camper can do for you.
It doesn't matter if it's in the middle of nowhere or next to an Interstate if you're enjoying it. After all, if you drive there on a road-- even a dirt road -- you're not the first person to visit the spot anyway.
Enjoy more! :)

Our's won't be nearly as glamorous as this part of the country is fairly non-exciting. Gonna camp a couple days in Wisconsin and check out all the systems - before we head back to 650 miles away from a FWC dealer.

We will be heading back west eventually, but for now we get a lot of plain old improved campsites because there just isn't that much else here in the middle...

;)

Congrats!

What model are you getting? I'm sure that you will like it. I was going to have mine installed at the factory and do a camping trip home but since they only charged me $250 to ship it here, that was much cheapr than gas and hotel. Their ship rate to me was so low because they do regular runs to Riverside so stopping by here and installing it was not too far out of their way.

We are also getting a Raven. I posted the order details a few days back...

The problem is we are in Memphis, TN. The two closest dealerships are in Wisconsin and North Carolina, coincidentally both 650 miles away.

:)

So it is a bit of an effort to get one of these guys...

I'm sure that you will love it. It's tight inside but it's so nice having such a small RV footprint. And the other benefit of the small size is that watching a movie on the Ipad is like having a big screen :D
