I have two Maxxair fans and like them a lot. But a few times I have had the green light flashing and beeping. To reset it I just push in the battery knob to kill power to the camper to reset.

To avoid having the motherboard be killed off I did some quick research I bought two voltage regulators and installed them. I guess my fans are of the age that there is a problem and Maxxair at some point fixed the issue.

The process is simple and straight forward. I'll link the stepdown voltage I used and a couple videos' that show procedures. I used sticky back Velcro to attach it to the fan housing. Used insulated blade connectors for easy replacement if needed later.

I now read to spray the mother board with silicon spray to water proof the motherboard from moisture. might do that later.

Using the 12 volt 5amp model:

I haven’t fried the ones in my trailer yet but figure the line losses of the longer wiring are helping that. At the ti e there wasn’t a nice compact low cost solution like you linked (I’ll save that, thanks) so I rolled the dice and planned to put in a PMW controller if needed.

Still baffling that maxxair doesn’t design to handle real world voltages in charging systems

Mine was pretty old when I installed it but I've never run into any issues.

Of the two on the roof, the deluxe model is the one that has issues. The standard one up front seems to not alarm out. I bought and installed them June 2019.
